Insurance | Policy

At KidCare Pediatrics, we believe families should feel informed and supported when it comes to their child’s healthcare coverage and costs. Below you’ll find helpful information about insurance, billing policies, payments, vaccines, and financial assistance resources designed to make care more accessible.

Billing Policies

Newborns

  • Please note that NOT all insurance plans offer automatic coverage for newborns. If we’re unable to verify coverage on the date of your baby’s visit, you may be required to pay out of pocket.

  • Charges often become the responsibility of the parent if the baby has not yet been added to the insurance policy. It is your responsibility to notify our office once your newborn is added, so we can correctly file claims within the allowed timeframe.

  • Be sure to enroll your newborn within 30 days of birth to avoid loss of coverage until your plan's next open enrollment.

Well Child Exams & Sick Visits

  • Preventive (well child) visits focus on routine care and are billed separately from visits addressing illnesses or chronic conditions.

  • If your child presents with a new or existing health concern during a wellness visit, the provider may bill an additional "sick visit" charge. Your insurance will process both services based on your coverage and may assign a separate patient responsibility.

  • Vision, hearing, and lab screenings are also billed separately from the wellness exam and are subject to insurance benefit guidelines.

Current Insurance Requirements

  • Present your current insurance card at every visit so our team can verify benefits in advance. If your plan has changed and we are not notified at the time of service, the balance may become your responsibility.

  • Our staff receives benefit quotes directly from your insurance provider; however, these are not guaranteed payments. Ultimately, you are responsible for charges your insurance does not cover.

Vaccines

  • We verify vaccine coverage before administering immunizations. However, if your plan excludes vaccine benefits or you are uninsured, please let us know. We may be able to refer you to the Georgia Department of Public Health for assistance.

Payments

  • We collect all copays, deductibles, and coinsurance at the time of service.

  • We accept cash, personal checks, and all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express).

  • You may also pay online at: www.kidcarepediatrics.com/payments

Sliding scale

  • Our pediatric practice is committed to ensuring access to high quality healthcare for all children, regardless of a family’s ability to pay.

  • Eligible families may receive reduced fees for services, and no patient is denied care due to financial hardship. This approach supports our mission to reduce barriers to pediatric healthcare access and improve health outcomes within the communities we serve.
